Good reasonably priced breakfast. I love that they have lower priced smaller portioned breakfast, like you would make at home on a weekday. Basic diner style fair, nothing fancy. I received good service.

Perfect tour stop. Friendly service, prompt, and enough coffee refills to keep you on the road for hours

Always try to pop in here for breakfast when on the road Away from downtown. Easy enough to park a motorhome on the cross street Local food served by locals. Good food and good portions. Friendly service.

Large portions with typical diner feel. Hashbrowns were good. The workers were nice also.

One of my favorite places for breakfast. They very possibly have the best chicken fried steak I've ever had; it's huge, perfectly tenderized and seasoned, and the gravy on it is delicious. I always swap out the potatoes for their wonderfully light and fluffy pancakes. Service is always very good, they are awesome about bringing refills on soft drinks or coffee. Their omelettes are fantastic as well. But the thing that makes this place really stand out is it's the only place I know of around here that knows how to make an actual Monte Cristo sandwich. It's on their lunch menu, but I get it for breakfast too, just ask for a little bowl to put syrup in so you can dip it, its amazing.

Mediocre at best. Good not great. Worst biscuits I have experienced at a commercial eatery. Heavy and pale. Not good. Chicken fried steak and gravy were good. Hashbrowns undercooked. Don't get all the hype.

The food was excellent and well priced. It was much better than your typical diner, especially the hash browns. The portions were perfect and it has a great atmosphere. I highly recommend it! I had the Denver omelet with toast.

Great menu and service. The food is very good. I highly recommend this place.

Nothing memorable. Typical greasy spoon where everything is underseasoned and over cooked.

Our go-to place for our large group! Love coming here!

I don't understand the great reviews this place gets. It's a bog-standard American diner. A step up from Denny's only in that it's locally owned and presumably some of the food is actually prepared in the kitchen rather than reheated there. Granted, sometimes you go to these places and the food is disgusting and that's not true of the Breakfast Nook, but nothing I've eaten here was memorable in any way. The service is decent and the food is inexpensive. Personally, I'd rather spend a bit more and have a truly delicious brunch at nearby Garnet Cafe. However, if you're an out-of-towner and you're looking for an inexpensive, locally owned diner with a predictable tasting menu, this is the place to go. Although I wouldn't order seafood here, I'd say there are few unpleasant surprises on this menu.

Certainly it is hard to ruin breakfast. And I do favor restaurants that specialize in breakfast and are not a chain. This is both. The breakfast I had was just perfect. There was plenty of food. The service was friendly and fast and the prices very reasonable. What not to like?

Denny's food with a local feel. Thin rubbery omelets and frozen bagged hash browns. A long wait on weekends and you're sure to come out smelling like grease. The Help...three or four really rushed, crusty old timers and the rest 17 year olds. Have had better service with the 17 years olds quite frankly. Turn around, drive two or three blocks back south and go to Garnet, same wait, much better food, service and atmosphere

Good Food resonable price

We had a party of 6 at 10 am on a Friday. There was a 35 minute wait. There is only a 2-person bench for waiting. People had to stand in a narrow hallway while waiting. The hot chocolate was awesome. The mushroom omelet was decent. The potatoes did not have much flavor - they just tasted oily. Our table was dirty when we were seated, but the server brought a rag to clean it on our second request. I wouldn't rule out eating there again, but I don't know that it would be my first choice.

The perfect local "nook" that feels like the All-American classic diner, complete with mounds of good food and bottomless coffee... Stuff yourself with the chicken fried steak or a bulging omelet that comes with a pile of carriage style potatoes-we did.

Whenever I drive by this place the parking lot is always full so I thought I should finally give it a try. It was better then most breakfast places and very good. I had ham and eggs and the ham had a lot of flavor and was a very large portion as were the hash browns. Service was very good also, and my coffee never reached the half way point before being refilled. It is definitely worth another visit.

Excellent choice for breakfast. Portions are large size and good value. Our coffee mugs never went empty. Their omelettes are great!

We really enjoyed our breakfast here. The portions are big and the hash browns are homemade (I guess they have an abundance of potatoes in Idaho LOL). The toast was thick also! We'll be back for sure. Enjoy!

great breakfast place... super nice people and great food... ive had a few things here and its good priced and tastes great.

This place is great. The staff are friendly and the service is excellent. It's one of those places where your (excellent) coffee gets freshened up so often that you have no idea how much you've had. The food is tasty and the servings are ample. We were seated in a booth on the east side, which was too sunny for my taste. This will be a regular breakfast spot for us from now on.

I wish I could write about how great this place and its food is, but it is miserably hot inside. No a/c when it's over 100 degrees out, and just as hot inside but more humid... Miserable. Its too hot for me to drink coffee, let alone eat a hot breakfast. Avoid this place in the summer if you're heat conscious. I ended up ordering the only cold breakfast option, cottage cheese and fruit, only to be told a few minutes later that there is no cottage cheese left. My other child breakfast options? Lunch sandwiches. So in the end, I didn't even eat.

Its ok the prices are low but so are the portions, the food was just ok nothing special to make a trip for, the wait staff was slow we waited for 10 to get a drink before they took out order they talked with the locals and ignored us wont be back.

The Breakfast Nook - a Great Place to Eat in Coeur d'Alene It's one of my most favorite times of the day - breakfast. In the Coeur d'Alene area we are lucky to have a couple of great places for breakfast. The Breakfast Nook is certainly one of them. For me great food (homemade), great service and cleanliness are essential. The Breakfast Nook rates a "10″ in every category. Daily Specials are excellent AND a good value. One of the keys to a great eatery is the day-to-day, hour-by-hour involvement by the owners and or a committed manager. At The Breakfast Nook the owners are there almost all the time - one in the dining room and one in the kitchen. The cleanliness and the food prep evidence their almost obsessive involvement of all aspects of the restaurant. A look behind and under the counter tells the tale. The menu choices are varied. They are open 6am to 2pm, Monday - Saturday and 7am to 2pm on Sunday. Some of my favorites on the menu are: the cinnamon roll, razor clam, eggs and toast and hash browns, the petite steak and eggs for breakfast. My wife likes the garden omelet.Razor Clam Breakfast The seafood here is as fresh as it gets. I'm an Alaskan and I insist on the freshest seafood. I've had crab, shrimp and razor clams within an hour of pulling them from the sea - the seafood at the Breakfast Nook is that fresh!!! Speaking of fresh, the hash browns are NEVER frozen and always fresh. Eggs are perfectly cooked to order. The omelets are light and fluffy and again, always made with all fresh ingredients. An important part of any dining experience is comfortable seating. The Breakfast Nook offers counter service, booths and table service. All three option have very comfortable seating and seats - well padded. The service is top-notch. Coffee and water seem to magically appear provided by a well trained, polite wait staff. Food is brought out promptly and fresh. It doesn't sit under a heat lamp. Come to think of it, I don't even think they have one. If most diners knew what goes on under the counters and in the kitchens of most restaurants they'd run from the establishment screaming and never return. I'm a clean freak, especially when it concerns what and where I eat. The Breakfast Nook is honestly the cleanest restaurant, including places the diners don't see, I've ever seen. If you want a real treat try their crab omelet, often offered on the weekend - depending on the availability of the freshest crab. The quantity as well as the quality of the food served at The Breakfast Nook is legendary. The "petite" section of both the breakfast menu and the lunch menu are a welcome corner for those of us who frequently find ourselves overwhelmed with "too much." A must try is the fish and chips - fresh, large portions of perfectly fried fish and great french fries - all non-greasy and great tasting. I gladly give The Breakfast Nook my highest rating!!! I know of a few restaurants that compare (fortunately two of them are in the Coeud d'Alene area), but none surpass this great eating establishment. I usually am there for breakfast but their lunch is equally wonderful.

Solid choice for breakfast! Nothing fancy, but well prepared food, organized staff. Handled larger parties well. We'll be back.
(3)Erik L.
It was a solid breakfast. Nothing unique or special, your usual breakfast choices. The chicken fried steak could have been more tender and the crust more crisp. But it didn't disappoint, it just didn't wow me either. Fast friendly service, local greasy spoon atmosphere.
